SARAH A. SILVA COACH & FACILITATOR

 Values &
Expectations

What can you expect from a coaching/facilitation relationship with me?

Creating brave spaces.
I’m going to expect you to be vulnerable and take risks. We’re going to create spaces that help you feel comfortable doing that. I’m a student of power and abolition. I don’t believe in punishing people for doing or saying the wrong thing in this kind of work. I do believe in accountability; I will help you think through what you’re responsible doing for moving forward.

Naming what needs named. I’m going to show up with my intuition and I’m going to name the big and scary things that can be blocks to progress. Getting things out in the open allows space for people to talk them out. Fear dissipates. Understanding becomes possible. Opportunity grows exponentially.

Process. If you’re unintentional about how you’re being with people, you’re not honoring and respecting them, and you’re leaving open the door for biases, fears and assumptions to take over. Expect me to show up with intentionality, and for us to have processes that guide our coaching and/or facilitation so you know what to expect and can focus on how you show up.

Rigor. I expect you to show up with a willingness to work hard and courageously. I’ll show up that way for you.

Depth. I will help you find grounding; then, we’ll take off and explore. Expect me to see your best self and encourage you as you move in that direction. I will call out your power. The work will be deep, but it won’t always be heavy.

Satisfaction. I identify personal satisfaction with what you’re doing as a point of growth and progress. I want you to learn to feel satisfied with the work you’re doing and to value pleasure, fun and contentment.

Somatic work. If you’re comfortable with it, I will invite you into your somatic wisdom, into a journey to better understand the wisdom of your body and your intuition.

Curiosity, not judgment. I’m going to ask inquisitive and empowering questions. I’m going to listen. Expect me to hold space for your individual needs and to bring a high level of cultural competency to our sessions.

I love metaphor. If you get coaching or facilitation from me, you’re going to get metaphor.

I have a thick skin. Tell me what you need. You won’t hurt my feelings. If something we’re doing isn’t working for you, we’ll figure out how to honor that.

How I expect my clients to show up
  • With a willingness to be vulnerable and take risks.
  • Prepared to work hard and be courageous.
  • The first revolution is internal: Be prepared to look inward.
  • What you pay attention to grows: Be willing to examine how you spend your time and where you direct your energy and focus.
